Detached home values are rising in 40% of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) markets.

Certain GTA neighborhoods, including Rosedale-Moore Park and Trinity-Bellwoods, are particularly popular and gaining traction.

Despite lower sales in recent years, pent-up demand and population growth are expected to boost the GTA market.

A recent report reveals the cheapest places to live in Canada, based on the cost of living index. The top three cities on the list are Thunder Bay, Saguenay, and Trois-Rivieres, all located in Ontario and Quebec. Other affordable cities include Timmins, Shawinigan, and Rimouski, all with a cost of living index below 70.

The report notes that these cities offer lower costs of living, but they also tend to have fewer job opportunities and lower salaries.

However, for those looking for affordable living and a slower pace of life, these cities may be a good option.

The average price was also relatively steady at $1,165,691 in May compared to $1,156,167 in April. This trend was reflected across all housing categories.
